The Study rooms at GCU Library allow you to study
privately without any noise. Study rooms in the Library can be booked on-site,
but the easiest way to get a room is to schedule in advance.
You have the option of booking two one-hour sessions per
week. The larger study rooms are equipped with televisions, and you can check
out an HDMI cable to connect a laptop.
The quiet of the study rooms is the greatest benefit. The
study rooms are great private spaces for commuters or residents that need a set
time and place to study.
Study rooms are a part of the library, but they have a different atmosphere from the rest of the library.
The added benefit of being
indoors and somewhat private makes the study rooms a perfect location for those
needing a quiet place to work.
2. Reserve study rooms online
GCU Library’s online reservation system can be used to reserve Study Rooms for individual study.
To reserve a study room, select the 3rd or 4th floor at libcal.gcu.edu. Choose the date, time, and room you want from the available options. Rooms may be reserved for up to 4 hours per day. Click Submit Times to move on.
Fill out the form, review the guidelines, and click Submit. You must use a GCU email address. You will receive a confirmation email.3. Reserve study equipment. You can also reserve types of study equipment via the GCU online reservation system to aid your study at the library.
There are Anatomical Models to help with biology and anatomy classes, Computer Cables to connect to the LCD screens in the study rooms.

To reserve study equipment at GCU Library,
Click the reserve equipment button on libcal.gcu.edu for the type of item you’d like to reserve.
Locate the item in the list and click Availability under the item to see available dates and times.
There may be more than one page of items.
Choose the date and time you want from the available
options.
Anatomical models are available for 2 hours up to 6 times
a week.
Computer workstations are available reserved ahead or as
a walk-in for up to 4 hours per day.
Cables are available for up to 4 hours per day.
Wi-Fi Hotspots are available for 4 weeks.
Click Add to Cart & Checkout to move on.
Fill out the form, review the guidelines, and click
Submit.
You must use a GCU email address.
You will receive a confirmation email.
For hotspots, read and acknowledge the included Checkout
Agreement.
4. Reserve a Wi-Fi hotspot device
Wi-Fi Hotspots are available for current students on
campus or in the Phoenix Metro area and can be taken home to provide internet
access.
The use of a GCU library Wi-Fi hotspot device is subject to the Terms & Conditions outlined in the Checkout Agreement.
This
agreement will need to be acknowledged before checking out a device.
If you want to reserve a Wi-Fi hotspot device:
Choose the time at which you would like to visit the GCU Library and pick up a Wi-Fi hotspot device, then click “Add to Cart & Checkout.“
Read the Terms & Conditions, then click continues. Fill out the form and submit it.
Read and acknowledge the Checkout Agreement included in
the confirmation email.
At the time of your reservation, head to one of the
Library Information Desks located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Student
Union and let us know you have a hotspot reservation.
Once GCU has confirmed the Checkout Agreement has been
signed, you may take the device with you and begin using it.
5. Request an interlibrary loan:
Finally, the last thing about GCU Library is interlibrary
loans.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that allows current GCU students, staff, and faculty to borrow resources from other libraries that are not immediately available through the GCU Library.
Tipasa is the new Library system used to manage
interlibrary loan requests, providing more user-friendly features and more
control to manage your requests. In Tipasa you can:
Request interlibrary loans and view the current request
status.
Renew requests or cancel requests.
View electronically received articles and book chapters.
View notifications, and set notification preferences.
